Happy New Year! Out with the old and in with the new. Resolution time again.
How will you mark the beginning of this new (sewing) year?

If you are like me, previous resolutions included Using My Stash; Completing Works in Progress; and of course Cleaning and Organizing my Sewing Studio. All good thoughts that tend to fizzle out as we move on to other ideas and responsibilities.

So this year, I have decided to try a different approach. That of setting goals to increase my knowledge of products and techniques.

Up first, Master My Bernina! Through The Inspired Sewist we all have access to the wonderful Mastery Guides (WorkBooks) available for Bernina Sewing machines, sergers and embroidery units. Many of us used these in guide class with Nan or Roxanne when we purchased our machines. But how many of us actually went home and stitched out every exercise and created a sample book to use as a personal reference guide – certainly not me. Hence, my first goal of 2017; to work through all of the above-mentioned guidebooks and create hands-on documentation of my enhanced knowledge.

I’m not sure how long this will take me, but the good news is that it will help me achieve my Second Goal for 2017. #stitcheveryday – a hashtag I see all the time on Facebook and Instagram. I’ll be putting #stitcheveryday first in my daily calendar for 2017. How many of you will join me?

Subliminally, I am hoping both of these goals – increasing my expertise along with daily commitment – will help me tackle My Stash and Works in Progress! Now organizing my sewing studio is another story for a future post!

Come stitch with us at The Inspired Sewist where the goals are always to provide you with the best products and instruction to enhance your sewing experiences.

Happy Sewing!
