October – Evergreen
Evergreen! I for one love the fact that this is one
tree that I can have in the house that won’t be
shedding any needles onto the floor. Made
using our Split Rects and V Block tools, I can’t
help but think that this would be a darling
advent calendar project, just embellish it with
pretty buttons and crystals and it would make a
great little holiday wall hanging!
November – Floating
Diamond
Piecing this block will be
simple, you just need to
pay attention to the
orientation of your pieces
and the seam allowance
on your Diamond Rects
units. Depending on your
color choices, you might
want to consider using
strip piecing to make the
rectangle with the square
on the end.
December – Peaks and
Valleys
Peaks and Valleys uses a combination of my
Diamond Rects tool, V Block tool, and the
Sidekick/High-Low Technique Sheet. You’ll also
have three different units and a partial seam, so
while this block may stretch your quilting skills,
it’s so worth it! That’s what we try to do with
Blockbuster – teach you the tools, give you
ideas, and see how far you can go!!
